It’s not the size of your foot that matters but more a design of how carefully you walk through life. Steady, deliberate, and calculating are those footprints in the sand that clearly liberates you. As you become, your version of what a man should be is tantamount to all else. That’s when you set the stage and pull out the compass marking your destination into the world of unknowns. As you labor through life’s unknowns, the obvious emotion is fear, but moreover, that fear is associated with your expectations at any given moment. It seems to me that expectations become competitive with reality. As you try to stay clear of calculating expectancies, you set yourself up for disappointment.
In my opinion, being present in your life is far greater than being a fixture. This fixture, symbolizing a decorative ornament, is just an addition to the structure that holds everything together. Were it not for this structure, all would crumble, leaving behind no memory and no presence, and those footprints would only be an invisible afterthought of what could have been as you look back. As you look back and see the unsteadiness of your steps, stumbling, indecision, and confusion become those realities.
As you walk the sands of uncertainty, notice your planted footprints’ depth. If the depth leaves a lot to be desired, stop to figure out why that happened. Could this be uncertainty? Could this be the doubt you carried all of your life? If not, what is it? If you care to find out, do the work. Your feet carry you where you need to go; without them, you’re stranded, just waiting for someone to come along and help. Your life’s compass must engage the passion that carries you forward, while your steps along the way are steps worth remembering.
