No man is an island, meaning no one can live this life without getting help from someone. My good friend, Dr. C, wrote the following testimonial. She has graciously written this piece to help promote my message of ‘truth’ and inspire others to do the same. Although I have moved on from SPAA (Speakers, Publishers, and Authors), I take the experience of speaking publicly and teaching others to do the same, along with the inspiration that I find in writing books telling my story on many levels. I often host seminars centered around the speaking profession and writing platform around the country. Through this heartfelt experience, I can continue my growth both mentally and spiritually, and for that, I need to thank you, Dr. C.
“I first became acquainted with Dr. Ronald W. Alston when he so eloquently presented the Speakers, Publishers and Authors Association (“SPAA”) Plan. Although I was already a member, his presentation was so inspiring that it moved me to increase my involvement by sharing Omaha “The SPAA experience.”
I am a firm believer that God always has a ‘Ram’ in the bush, meaning that God still has a provision where a need exists, and I’m convinced Dr. Alston is that ‘Ram.’ His determination to lead a purpose-driven life is contagious! He has motivated me to step outside of my comfort zone—even in areas where I had no intention of changing. One of my favorite quotes of Dr. Alston’s is, “Risk not, lose not but gain nothing.”
I find it easy to identify with someone when they have been partakers of the lessons and values they have communicated. I’ve read his thought-provoking book, “My Words, Your Reality,” and commend Dr. Alston for his sacrifices, accomplishments, and personal challenges that he has worked through, especially as a veteran of the Vietnam War. He has risen above many seemingly impossible obstacles and shares his life experiences to help others.
When it comes to acquiring knowledge, I am a life-long student, and he is an excellent teacher! Dr. Alston possesses a wealth of experience, and his communication skills are exemplary. His intuitive nature causes him to adapt his presentations to address the needs of his audience. He uses his vast vocabulary not to impress but to enlighten and educate others as he speaks with a conviction that leads you to believe Dr. Alston practices what he preaches.
I highly recommend Dr. Alston to any individual or organization whether you choose to utilize his publications and seminars or not. He does not boast, is not “puffed-up,” and is willing to assist wherever needed. With his extensive resume and excellent communication skills, he had many choices after retirement. Still, he chose to give of himself through SPAA, in his hopes to inspire others to do the same by passing it on and making a difference.
