Honor the Leaf

An old Chinese proverb subscribes to this belief. “The leaf honors the tree, but when the leaf falls, the tree trembles.”

TRANSLATION:

As the tree is always the focal point of growth, it’s counterpart or offspring is the leaf. When leaves begin to fall prematurely, that’s a good sign that the tree is dying or requires sustenance. The plate gathers it’s nourishment from the tree as it spawns new leaves in abundance. The leaf, therefore, can be compared to a human offspring. As they grow and remain healthy, the human nurturer has succeeded in providing the necessary care that allows the family to grow and mature.

As the leaves continue to fall yet again, the tree can become barren and brittle. The bark begins to break away, and soon that tree must fall. Those small leaves, when multiplied, become the sole barrier that protects the tree. They become the belt that holds up the pants. It becomes that oil for the engine that allows all working parts to function as they should. In so doing, that leaf, that tree, has drawn this bond, but the plate becomes the life-line that holds all things together.  Even though the leaf has fallen, they become what nourishes the soil in preparation for future trees. Growth must continue, but the foundation, the platform to all else, must be that dominant force of human life and the allowance of nature to prevail.

Honor your life and the opportunity to grow. If you never take that step forward, growing and developing will cease to exist.
