Intelligence, compared to instinct, is like preparing for an exam that you’re confident about but not knowing where to look for the information you need to ease the doubt. On the other hand, instincts are learning what to do at any given point to survive those exactness tests. Your survival in terms of eating and drinking, and knowing just where to find that life sustenance, is what we all call instinct. Instinct, or innate behavior, is the inherent inclination of a living organism towards a particular complex behavior. The simplest example of mechanical action is survival by any means necessary. So to say that when in doubt, one should follow their instincts and go with their gut. It means understanding what you are and thriving in an environment conducive to your kind, but when that conclusiveness isn’t available, what do you call upon to make something happen? YOUR INSTINCT! Intelligence is the IQ, it’s the academics, it’s the GPA, and anything else outside of that integrated thinking phenomenon depends on your ability to become instinctive, and that’s an absolute must.
