Spirituality vs. Religion

Posted on 2 minute read

To what I ask is the fundamental difference? Make no mistake; your spirituality reigns Supreme. It’s an integral part of your every second, minute, hour, and day. It’s your devout presence that protects you and becomes a suit of armor. It’s the soul to wit cannot be seen, but it is felt. It is the personification of what excellence is all about because you know who you are at that moment. As an everyday existence from one year to the next, your spirit resonates and becomes one within the universe. If you’re in sync with the universe, there is a balance throughout your life that maintains your footing. Every step you take is a step closer to what is worthy or not because you can feel it, touch it, and imagine its power.

spirituality
Spirituality is an attitude and behavior not conveniently applied when needed.

On the other hand, religion speaks more to the chosen religious demographic and doesn’t necessarily subscribe to what Christianity should be and its spirituality. Religion can be interpreted as an assignment of choice based on certain beliefs handed down by generations. Moreover, according to some scholars, religion is a social-cultural system of designated behaviors and practices, morals, worldviews, texts, sanctified places, prophecies, ethics, or organizations that relate humanity to supernatural, transcendental, or spiritual elements. However, there is no scholarly consensus over what precisely constitutes a religion. Therefore, many people confuse religion with being spiritual and carrying those beliefs in all that you do. There is no need for a church or taking a bible spewing scripture to impress.

So, this article is not a cruel indictment one way or the other, but it is a call to being the person you profess to be without fail!
