A societal phenomenon occurs when a boy is too old to be a kid, and this same boy too young to be a man leaves his state of mind confusing. In today’s world of chaotic bias and hatred, the boy with intellect is still that kid trying to find his way with little or no direction. To seek examples of living with values has been strategically removed from the human psyche. Role models who transcend the idea of living right and remembering their roots should be the icons of a modern-day era to share that label. Today, young people are tired of being told to pray or turn their cheek and suck it up because nothing has changed, and nothing will change quickly enough.
Waiting for someone to bring you a meal or give you a bottle of water doesn’t help the starving, thirsty boy or girl from meeting that ultimate fate that subscribes itself to no other race of people except those of color who face such a dilemma. No race of people should have to choose between paying their rent or getting that prescription. Because this is the reality of far too many successes on any level looks dim. What can be grabbed by our youth to take control of their lives reaches beyond hope and settles on the strength to see yourself differently. It will be that difference that carries them through those impossible times.
Living within a government that’s ‘hell-bent’ on racial destruction leaves a hole in your soul that deepens by the second, and what’s left is the strength and courage that our ancestors left us. So, let’s cry and complain less. Instead, let’s fortify the masses of our color by creating our mastery of vision. Let us not forget the kings and queens that came before us who knew what pain and suffering truly meant. Let us rise and keep rising for the sake of us all!
