Anger: A Convenient Label

Posted on 2 minute read

It seems that being this angry individual is an easy acceptance over finding out why the idea of anger exists. The embrace of anger acceptance has unknown or unexplored reasons that contribute to this broad term. Worn like a badge of honor by many, anger has become more of a weakening of the subconscious mind that accepts anger as a way of life, but that idea couldn’t be further from the truth.

Anger Wheel

To know anger, your search for why is relative. Much like the tentacles of an animal, anger carries other possibilities that contribute to the core of an abstract and confused sense of self.

For years, I told myself I was an angry man 60% of the time, when in truth, I refused to examine the other possibilities that might have advanced my interpretation of anger. This focus wheel helped me identify different reasons for my anger claim, showing me other emotions to survey. This discovery leads me to anxiety, loneliness, depression, shame, hurt, and isolation. Once alternate emotions are identified, I begin to eliminate or minimize the severity of each emotion listed. By performing this elimination process, I arrived full circle to determine what I could fix on my own. As you dissect the word anger, you find a litany of explanations that deepens the hole in your soul. As this hole takes jurisdiction, the distinction between what’s real and what’s not becomes more confusing and frustrating. Your anger must come under your authority by admitting that your perceived anger is nothing more than a belief you elected to store in your subconscious that houses all learned reliance.
