DO YOU INVEST IN OTHERS ON ANY LEVEL?

We tend to live in a NARCISSISTIC society where many want and expect everything to revolve around them to massage their own exaggerated egos. As selfish as that sounds, and it is, it is no less accurate. These narcissists gravitate to being overly self-involved and often vain to the core. This kind of vanity is like a ‘Cancer’ that, over time, will eat away at you. Pride will detract from your real purpose, where something good will never be seen or appreciated by way of narcissism. The detraction of anything is the ‘pull’ to disparage or belittle the reputation or worth of a person, and then you boast about it. So, rather than investing in others, your investment becomes your purposeful override to overshadow everyone you can.

It is vital to believe in something bigger than ourselves. It’s that higher power we should all subscribe to that balances us and brings us into tune with ourselves. To believe in something bigger than us, one must have that confidence within oneself. It’s that same confidence that will keep you from feeling inadequate and bearing this low self-esteem. This pursuit of ‘intellectual property’  is the protection of your sense of self. To possess this ‘sense of self’ unselfishly is to prevent you from seeking an overabundance of validation from others.

Through it all, there must be us. Trying to do everything alone, just to say you make everything work, is a travesty. What must exist is a ‘mutual cause’ where a collection of effort falls in line with mutual respect. The combined cause is an intensified awareness of what can be done to factor need over want. This intensified cause is a combination of vision and intent to recognize the importance of visualizing the overall picture to deliver a well-intentioned project. When you run into virtual takers and not givers at any level, you will not obtain what you seek. All roads can’t lead back to you when others have fought in the trenches with you, providing the assistance that helped you grow.

If you think small, you live small. Nothing of worth nor value will be yours to claim. God attached resources to your purpose that will ultimately make a difference in your life. Invest in others, and if you can do that, you will grow because of your unselfishness. Who have you helped that’s not related to you? Make a list if you need time to think about it!

If you can get out of the way, void of your selfish behavior, helping others will happen sooner. One sure way to invest in others is to teach. Through your teaching, the accent on learning will be yours as well.
