Your Future – Your Look

The Consideration of ‘what if’ is the entertainment of possibility!

I can hazard a guess that we all are guilty of imagining our futures, but the question is, how promising will it be, and how encouraging do you want it to be? What can each of us do to ensure that our future will be hopeful and not one of hopeless repetition where nothing encouraging ever happens. During my travels, where I engaged many people through my seminars and workshops, it was my happiness and served as the underlying tone to my success.

The hypocrisy, or pretense of having a virtuous character, be it moral or religious, only subscribes to a pattern of behavior that could be dated or even obsolete. This less than stellar moral character that many of us hold dear is not necessarily the fault of anyone, but more of a subscription of an unwavering testament to looking at your life differently. All things get old, wear out, and become style-less, but many of us follow these old ways and find ourselves becoming the ‘talked about rather than being revered and respected.

What are you holding onto that could at least be modified or even changed for the better? How difficult is it to ask yourself the what-if questions? If I did this differently if I acted differently, what could happen? If I could see myself as others see me, could that be my ‘what-if’ answer?

My constant renewal of me, the person, is my way of seeing parts of my character improve. The search for a clear vision of my own ‘spirituality’ keeps me in tune with my faults. Writing about it, having discussions about it loads me up and allows me to see hope after all. The eye of your soul, as well-intended as it may be, is not enough to ‘change’ that thing about you that others see but refuse to see. I can’t tell you enough about how flawed I am, but the telling to render sympathy rather than results becomes my loss. To love and then be loved is my objective. To actively listen instead of hearing must become my discipline and heal from the inside. It’s not the exterior of the human shell that needs attention but the interior of the mind that can only elevate us. It’s the eye that sees the image and snaps that photograph to be filed into your memory. Whatever you saw is the lasting account of how you feel about the picture, but there is a flaw in every snapshot.  What you see, or think you see, cannot be the end to any well-guided assessment. What you expect from others must be your return!  In the words of Bishop T.D. Jake’s, “It’s one thing to feed, but it’s another thing to expect to be provided.” Doing is undoubtedly a sign of sincerity; however, in the doing, the measure of consistency must reign as the TRUTH for all.

I am still on my mission to GROW and grow in a way that is not compromised. If you continue to look for fault, you will eventually find your own from the tongue of another. Judge not, lest you be judged!
