We all begin living on the other side of the keyhole, the side that limits, restricts, confines, and shackles. Until you can see that physically passing through the keyhole is impossible, you must already see yourself on the other side. The clear, concise vision to look beyond the impossible obstruction lifts and removes the doubt you would have experienced otherwise while trying to squeeze through the hole.

I just described ‘Tunnel Vision,’ or your limitations in seeing what’s in front of you, without weighing your options, considering alternatives, or thinking differently. People who constantly look for the uncomplicated ways to navigate their lives miss out on how powerful the mind can be and how commanding your ability to imagine can take you. The obvious obstructions of living we see every day, like the fence is too high, the door is locked, the car ran out of gas, or the book is too long to read, are the set limitations you create. If you can take the time to reassess your conditions, you will resolve a perceived dilemma.
As we all employ mirrors each day, we tend to see the image we want to see or the image that was years ago. Everything changes over time, and as change occurs, it’s your obligation to change and adapt. What has now become your reality is that image created by time and your contribution to it. The test is to see which image you ignore or the image you refuse to see, and then decide what can be done about it.

This reminds me of manifestation and how much can be achieved through that mindset. It’s helped me alot, getting out of my head and whatnot. Neville Goddard says to use your wildest imaginations before bed and with work put in it’ll all come to fruition. I don’t believe his and other manifestation coach’s methods have ever failed me. I especially enjoy asking the universe for signs. Sometimes I’ll get a response quickly. But going forward I think I need to set my sights higher.
Remembering where you were and comparing where you are is the lesson to take away. Ask yourself what did you do wrong and what could you have done differently. Where it’s not healthy to live in the past only applies when your past is relived. Learning from your mistakes and identifying with your successes carries you to that next step in life where those lessons have served you. If you establish growth and a higher level of maturity, the choices you have made and continue to make will be of benefit. Stay in your head and allow that child within to talk to you. Take note of those lessons and list them to review over time.
Lexi, it is critically important to your mental health that you stay the course you’re currently traveling. If your life is better, and your thoughts are clearer, that means whatever threw you off track in past years has now been the years you can reflect upon to learn who you are and what you want for yourself. It’s alright to stumble or to make the wrong decisions, but it’s not alright to repeat those mistakes. If you do, you have become comfortable with that behavior and those stumbling blocks have now become habits. Not good! Whatever problems you had with your mother remember that she is four (4) decades older and was raised in another world having been assigned her own beliefs and forming habits of her own. This time space needs to be discussed so you both know what to expect from each other by listing those differences and discover how the two of you can adjust to make your living condition tolerable.
Also, what you need to keep in mind is that your mother is from the ‘baby-boomer’ era where her beliefs and her habits are a part of her DNA. As her beliefs can be dated and not suited for you, her habits are ingrained and a part of her DNA as well. So finding common ground is a must. Until you can get out on your own, find that job, and be self-sustaining, you must find a way to survive and co-exist in a healthy way.
