Discovering Your Inner-Child (Part III)

Posted on 1 minute read

The inner-child; your Inner-child. Are they familiar? If not, the two of you need to visit and get to know one another. That inner-child of yours is longing to be set free, molding the adult you now live with every day. Any regrets you have, any bad habits you have formed, and the adult crying. Those cries, the outreach to seek help, have fallen on deaf ears and a blind eye. So, you now see what you want to see because your truth hurts badly. So, you create falsehoods to mask the pain and minimize the guilt.

Tackle your inner child and solve some of your problems.

Many of us who have reached that age of adulthood for decades still live with those untold truths. We suffer the shame and perhaps the guilt that neglects to complete us. This deficiency is much like the building foundation that has been eroding for years. The sad part is that you don’t have a clue as to how to fix your dilemma.

Do you know your inner child? Does your inner-child speak to you? If so, what is that voice saying, and when heard, are you paying attention? No one escapes the interwoven personalities of a child and an adult because what remains forever is an adult with child-like behaviors.

The inner child is so fascinating. Although I don’t know much about how it truly manifests in people’s personalities, I feel like you can tell quickly when someone hasn’t connected with theirs in a while. I hope that isn’t something that would describe me in the future. I recently came across someone who deemed themself completely “healed”. It was kind of laughable because they had previously had a panic attack after a small disagreement. Then the panic attack snowballed into narcissism at its finest. It was like I time traveled to 2014; so similar to how I used to act. After that I made it very clear to myself that I cannot bring that type of energy to another persons life. But sometimes I’m not sure what my inner child is saying. To be honest I feel like I have to live up to a role now that I’m legally an adult.
