Anger is Your Enemy

Posted on 2 minute read

Men make up in wrath what they lack in reason. Why? Because it’s much easier to act mad than it is to reason why you’re crazy so often. Anger breeds contempt, and contempt births violence and unwanted entanglements. When anger, or even before frustration, gets a foothold, take time to step back and look at your surroundings to determine the worth and source of your violence. More times than not, your anger is unnecessary, foolish, and costly.

As I have labored with anger over the years, I discovered that the perception of violence from others would, over time, become your label. People will soon isolate, avoid, and criticize who and what they see.  As seen in this photo, one could surmise that the anger is intense. I have displayed this kind of passion because I felt it from my gut. This reaction frightens me because acts of violence can follow this rage. Once physical abuse enters any situation, a nest of outcomes becomes ugly emotions. Still, on the other hand, anger is masked by not being appreciated and is often substituted by an apparent frustration with people and life. Anger or the appearance of anger can become comfortable and convenient as your negative emotions become your defense mechanism.

So, why this topic? Awareness is key! If your perception of yourself is heightened, perhaps avoiding such an emotion can be eliminated and labeled for what anger truly represents. An undeniably angry person is angry all of the time. Before you respond or act, take a minute, maybe even several minutes. The time you took to reflect on the result could have differed from this lesson. To see this horrible and embarrassing expression is enough for me to avoid such a look.
