Being Spiritually Aligned

Posted on 3 minute read

Many people aspire and profess to be spiritually connected, but their actions and behaviors tell different stories. Those who advocate honesty and integrity fall short when others only see the talk versus the walk. If you’re not practicing what you preach, you are seen as a hypocrite and not a person of Christian merit, and surely a person who can’t be trusted. When you claim an attachment to the greater good, you’re claiming this profound relationship to your greater power. That greater power, that spiritual uniqueness, has its meaning of sharing that you believe and live. As that image is broken, what you conveyed by your behavior is seen negatively.

On many occasions, I have been in the company of toxic people. People who take the oxygen from the air while spewing their negativity and draining your energy. People who are hell-bent on ruining your day will say and do anything to take you away from your peace because they are unhappy. With this unhappiness, they want everyone to be just as frustrated and just as empty. These people create confusion, doubt everything and everyone, and see themselves as positive contributors. By wanting what you have, they lack the desire or the ability to get it and become a viable, positive force within the family or as a part of a relationship. Instead of this sense of belonging, these carriers of ill will suffer quietly until the help they need is met.

You ever wonder why a person who has been imprisoned for a time suddenly finds [God?] It’s not hard to figure out because the question is, “who else can they talk to being where they are in life? In this situation, the claim of finding [God] can be real, but the hypocrisy arrives after their release from prison. How will the life of the inmate be served once freedom is restored? Will those hours spent memorizing scripture and preaching to anyone who will listen become a useful part of their lives? One can only imagine what can occur when the chips are down and your back is against the wall.  The basis of a newly found Christian can only come when the pursuit is sincere and not used as a point of convenience or a figure of speech.

This really true and insightful. I know of a family who is like that and sadly I needed to remove my self from her fire darts

As an adult you have to decide ” this is the last time these people will make me feel this way” and stand on it. Whether that be family, a relationship or a friendship. FOCUS on YOU. You’ve done enough for everyone else.
