Young Adults – No Clue

Posted on 2 minute read

It’s impossible to understand adult life while living as a teenager or a young adult who hasn’t reached that maturity level. In fact, many adults haven’t figured it out! These young people, espousing to being considered adults and treated like adults at 18 or 21, aren’t automatic just because the label is legal. Being mature and understanding what responsibility means is the beginning of developing a behavioral platform that keeps a teen or young adult on the side of reality. The reality in its infant stage comes quickly, and being clouded by thinking you’re an adult because you’re eighteen or twenty-one is an accident waiting to happen.

The uphill climb for young adults

The definition of reality within the world, or understanding the state of things as they actually are, comes with exposure and experience. Being ill-prepared for this life change causes undue hardship followed by costly mistakes that can be physically and emotionally damaging. At the age of young, overly ambitious youth, the confusion starts when thinking maturity begins. This maturity of cognitive expression falls in the lap of those willing to accept their place in the race of growing up at a pace conducive to patience and discipline. Refusing to take advice and engaging in conversation that helps mental growth only delays adulthood’s maturation period.
