I often reflect on my life, and as a result, it seems to be a continuous challenge, one that men, in general, face as they navigate their journeys. Though fierce and unpredictable, one man is sometimes forced to endure many uncertainties that deal with their egos and other sensitivities that men seldom admit. The mere mention of being sensitive is much like using one of those four-letter words meant to disrespect, undermine, or shame.
Within the framework of male dominance, it appears that the male subject is being referred to as irresponsible rather than inadequate. To be deemed insufficient, men see that as a weakness where their egos become limited and questioned. To be reasonable means that a man can be seen as powerless and imageless. This term speaks more to an emptiness held within his spirit and beckons the question of absence within his own family, either physically or emotionally. Therefore, an emotional hazard can be that ‘thing’ that appears above the skin’s surface that may be obscure but hurts nonetheless.
As seen as the unknown, obscurity is that hidden blemish that could worsen over time. The irresponsibility of not caring for this blemishing trademark could also become that blend of inadequacy that has now affected your appearance. This visual flaw becomes your undoing and makes you unappealing, even though the NO appeal platitude must prevail.
