The male ego is fragile, complicated, and immense at the same time, and that reality has been a strange mix of seductive enslavement for far too many women. In addition, the male ego is laden with selfishness, pride, and envy. With this array of personality accounts, men remain emotionally in debt and out of touch.
Historically, men have done what they wanted no matter the situation or the consequences, evidenced by the sexual scandals that have saturated Hollywood. As the male ego moves through life, the challenges from many outside sources interrupt mind stability, leaving the man with an exaggerated, unbalanced ego. This lack of balance leaves in its wake a false sense of security along with a skewed view of who they think they are and how little they think of women, which in effect is a form of racist intent wrapped in separatism and inequality.
For years, I realized that proving myself to everyone else was the right thing to do, but I was wrong. Being who I was despite the criticism, the doubt, and yes, even the hatred didn’t matter one way or the other, but what mattered was how I felt about myself. If I were the subject, solutions would never be realized. If a call to arms to safeguard your integrity is the vital aspect of your life, that enrichment will carry you through to the end. There is no need to use sexual ploys to buy a false trust and then pretend it never happened.
The me-too movement for women is fundamental because it felt throughout my career, particularly within the police department. Women were being manipulated and assaulted with the promise of promotions or assigned to specialized units. These officials’ double standards and business moguls wreak instability but speak more to using power on all levels for selfish reasons. But what is the case when some women use their sex to get what they want? First, of course, some placed status through money, promotions, and favor over morals. And then there were those women who never sold their souls giving into those propositions. These women were the real victims, and they were overlooked and punished because of that ideology.
So, routinely, people will continually place greed over morality and integrity. It seems that the perception of acquiring celebrity and all that comes with it means excepting the bad and the good, but that is a too complicated decision when gender views are skewed and obtuse.
As I embrace this word ‘ego,’ I’m caught up in the notion of the ego becoming a way to edge-God-out. Rather than the uplifting message, we stand to experience the solemn signs of doom that will ‘ring’ true. Change for the better needs to happen soon, but what will it take to happen?
