The Pen Mightier Than The Sword

Posted on 3 minute read

For me, the satisfaction of writing is liberating. Writing is like waking up without the sun because my writing eases my pain and lifts me. Writing exposes me to a clearer understanding of who I am while familiarizing me with the world surrounding me. Sharing my thoughts, theories, and concepts creates a platform that steadies me, prepares me, and educates me. Getting to know yourself is the window stained by dirt and soot, making it difficult to see those natural things that bring a smile and what many take for granted. Being able to access my mind to tell a story, or examine a theory that I can share, is illuminating. When the pen is placed on paper, or the fingers placed on a keyboard, the power within me surges while lighting a fire of hope, not only for myself, but hopefully for the benefit of those who read my books, listens to my lectures, and gains by my counseling.

Mightier than the sword.

It’s important to know that writing takes time, patience, and commitment. To be vulnerable is to be transparent, and while transparent, the world can feel your grit while feeling your humility. Though the sun may not shine, or the rain may fall, those are the times when my thoughts are accurately clear. No matter what season, writing is always the right time to share and educate. Many of my days, especially at this time in my life, are precious moments, moments I chose not to waste. My waking hours, my time spent on developing an adopted craft are important. To create a story by actually telling that story from my point of view allows my imagination to soar. To stand idly by and allow your days, months, and years to pass you by is the greatest travesty one could ever imagine. You see, writing compels you to sit still and think. By getting to yourself and examine those things of merit that you can now share tells the story you wrote.

Funny thing, as I write this article, I am telling my story and sharing my feelings. As a result, this article has entered a deepened sense of transparency that you and  I can embrace. With my aging time, my tenacity is greater, and my convictions are unabridged. I am, who I am, without apology!
