The Shame On Capital Hill

Posted on 2 minute read

Every event, every experience, has its lesson. So pay close attention to your lessons.

On this day in history, living in the 21st Century, at the start of a new year and a new president, we have lived to see civil unrest at its best. So much so that the halls of Congress and the private offices of civic leaders have been breached and disrespected. To live amongst so many political ingrates, joined by Trump followers, should be eye-opening as this teaches a lesson to last for a lifetime.

As some black Americans who feel certain entitlements can behave and act out the unthinkable, look again. You are not them and can’t do what they do now tomorrow or ten years from now. But don’t assign this indictment to feel less than, but rather apply these realities to what has always been in this world of bigotry and hatred. Try not to focus too much on what happened on Capitol Hill with a clear case of civil unrest and no punishment for the outcome. Now that black America rose, they fought back by playing the same game as our white counterparts. In record numbers, we won a presidential election, we came together in record numbers and turned Georgia blue while electing the most diverse government in history. So, count the victory, not the events, to steal the win. Black people are unbeatable when a unified effort is directed at one path. Remember, water extinguishes fire! A smile replaces a frown! Swim with the tide and not against it! Become water! Fight with intelligence! Don’t fight back; get back! Revenge is sweet when revenge brings about production to even the playing field! And finally, know for sure this isn’t over, but stay the course that brought us here!
