Understanding Personality Types

Posted on 6 minute read

DO YOU KNOW WHAT PERSONALITY TYPE YOU ARE?

We all know that people behave, think, and communicate differently. Some people you meet you get along with just fine because you both share a compelling likeness. Other people you meet appear to rub you the wrong way and drive you crazy because they prefer to be spontaneous with most things or indifferent. When people do things as we do, it pleases us, but it can cause nothing but stress when people do things differently. Even though we observe these different people behaving, thinking, and communicating, we do not understand why and spend no time figuring it out.

Personality shapes the world.
Personality shapes the world.

Many psychologists believe this to be true because of many different personality types. They say that our inability to identify these personality types in each other quickly makes connecting with some people more challenging. To increase our ability to build solid relationships with more people, psychologists believe that we must learn to understand and be aware of the differences in our personalities. They say this can go a long way toward improving our relationships through love, friends, and family. They further believe that learning to be flexible enough to adapt your behavior to others can affect your success and failure in all walks of life.

Identifying the different personality types can also help us understand ourselves better. The other personality types allow us to recognize our weaknesses, strengths, and vulnerabilities. They can show how we function, our character, and why we view others the way we do. They can further teach us why people see us the way they do. Understanding the personality types is significant in telling you a lot about yourself, providing you pay attention.

So, what personality types have so much control over how we behave and relate to others? In general, most psychologists agree that there are only four personality types; however, some believe there are more than four. Over the years, many terms have been used to describe the four personality types. Here, we are just going to keep it simple. We use Analyzer, Organizer, Nurturer, and Socializer (I made up Socializer) to describe the four personality types. These are simple terms that are easy to understand and remember. They also, to some degree, cause you to imagine what the words might mean.

Personalities are different
Personalities can be confusing.

A person who has an Analyzer Personality is introverted and detail-oriented. They are motivated by logic, facts, and accuracy, and need preparation. Information is their comfort zone; more is always better because they value knowledge. They are happiest when working alone because they are self-reliant and independent. They are excellent thinkers who look at every aspect of an issue before concluding. The Analyzer likes things clearly defined and wants to know what to expect from this personality type.

A person who has an Organizer Personality is introverted and task-oriented. They are natural leaders because they are good at delegating to others and are very direct when giving directions. They are fast-moving and result-driven. They value rules, authority, and tradition. They will take charge of a situation, make decisions quickly, complete tasks, and be effective and to the point.

A person who has a Nurturer Personality is extroverted and people-oriented. They seek and need acceptance from others and work hard to get it. They are people pleasers and everyone’s friends because relationships are essential. They are caring, supportive, respectful, agreeable, soft-hearted, loyal, passionate, loving, thoughtful, patient, obedient, and compassionate toward others. They enjoy working with a team and are good at keeping balance.

A person who has a Socializer Personality is extrovert and people-oriented. They are outgoing, like to have fun, enthusiastic, energetic, sociable, happy, talkative, cheerful, friendly, emotionally expressive, and enjoy being around people. They are warm, very approachable, and easy to know. They are connectors and will put you in contact with many people. They do things if they perceive it as being a lot of fun. They will take charge because they clamor for acknowledgment, recognition, praise, applause, and acceptance. They have powerful, persuasive skills and can persuade even the most skeptical.

When connecting with the Analyzer Personality, know what you want to say. You must stay logical in your approach and be specific. Do not approach them emotionally because they will not take you seriously. When trying to connect with the Organizer Personality, you must show them the step-by-step plan. They need to understand clearly what your intentions are. You cannot be too pushy with them. It would be best to discover their interests and family when connecting with the Nurturer Personality. Ask them for their opinion; they love it. When talking to them, use personal assurances and guarantees. Do not talk about the probabilities. When trying to connect with the Socializer Personality, you must impress. You should skip their small talk and get right to the point. Be excited and enthusiastic. Show them fun.

In conclusion, the theory is that once you understand a person’s personality type, you can adjust and adapt your behavior and communication style to those individuals. This communication style will allow you to relate your feelings and concerns better. Understandably, a person can portray other personalities as they fall into other mental corruptors in which external realities impair thoughts and emotions.

The word bipolar, coined by many, refers to a person whose behavior can’t be determined. They are forever changing, and their words mean even less. Therefore, these people carry multiple personality types and may require assistance through medication and counseling. So, learn who you are before you attempt to identify someone else. Those who you criticize may be the person you are as well.

Can a person Exhibit traits of multiplePersonality types I feel as though I’m at least three an organizer a nurturer and a socializer

Lexi

At first read, I would say I am the analyzer type personality. I enjoy talking to like-minded people, but once my social battery dies, my persoanlity kind of fizzles out. Anything i do, i prefer to know exactly what im doing and the several ways it could turn out. I think tom a c ertain point im self reliant. Now, if i had grown up differently and been shown/expressed love in a more accepting way, the nurturer side of me would definitely be me. As ive gotten older and experienced life with no one watching, I come out my bubble more. I socialize better. I smile and smell the roses. There is just so much anxiety that I honestly am not sure comes from. Its such a visceral feeling sometimes that I can’t help but feel boxed into the first personality type. Like its the one that would allow for the least mistakes.
