Your Mind Can Be Your Prison

Posted on 3 minute read

As presented in the picture, this truth is much more of the human psyche than any other thinking regimen. One of the spoils of life is harboring all of the living’s negativity, then allowing this reality to control your thoughts and behavior. Your behavior is your calling card in all cases of interaction. The past and present behavior delivers false messages of insecurity by inducing low self-esteem or this idea of self-worth. This prisoner within captures the real you because your business now becomes one of hurt and despair, and when people are hurt, they want to hurt others. Accessing the prisoner within you would be the natural flow of a thinking pattern that continues this rush to hate for no reason.

A quote that I recall and written by Albert Einstein that travels this path of explanation: “A human being is part of a WHOLE and called by us the UNIVERSE, which is a part of limited time and space. He experiences himself, thoughts, and feelings as something separated from the rest as a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. So if you’re judging yourself based on your past, the future has no place due to your preoccupation.

This delusion is a PRISON that restricts us to our desires and affection to a few persons nearest us. Our TASK must be to free ourselves from this PRISON by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures, thoughts, and ideas, and the WHOLE of nature in its beauty.” If delusions are held down by pretense, the adoption of another identity has taken effect. Running away from who we are is impossible, and the best way to reverse this trait is to develop a better you, which requires work. In all of us, we have this biological urge to attach to that which grabs our admiration. People we look up to and see them as better becomes the mission. The mind prison becomes more prominent as the mission enters a playing field to foster what can’t be. There should be no doubt that who we were in the past is what we become now.

My take on that quote is the explanation that the prisoner within begins with our mental fantasies that seldom reach a point of realization. Before you can make sense of this, the word ‘delusion’ has to be understood to claim acceptance of the idea, and then you must exchange that recognition by applying that idea to yourself. Once you can use the concept of acceptance, you can play a part in identifying what needs to happen to exact your fate based on your current position in life. For example, our own ‘delusion’ depends significantly on getting past ourselves by being honest and accurate through your authenticity.

This perspective is from my book, ‘My Words, Your Reality, A Guide to Personal and Professional Development.’ So pick up a copy either on Paperback or Kindle and complete your journey into knowing the prisoner within you.

This is my current realization. To have imposed limitation on self, for fear of being judged. Now I find a way to release that though process and adopt a new one.

I love this sentence right here “For example, our own ‘delusion’ depends significantly on getting past ourselves by being honest and accurate through your authenticity.” As a woman who has faced and conquered several foundational challenges in life, breakthroughs started happening when I decided who I want to be now instead of constantly replaying who I was before. The self indictment process is never easy, but becoming my true authentic self over time has made it incredibly worth it!
